This is a field recording from my friend walker's yard in las cruces, nm that i made on a band tour in may 2006. There is a horse running by on the road at one point and some dogs in the background, but the morning doves stand out the most and sound really beautiful at points. A field recording of light rain as it falls steadily in a hilly suburban area near the sea shore. The microphone was placed on a third-story roof window in the framing of a plexiglass/plastic skylight facing the opposing street. You can hear the rain falling onto the roof, plastic window pane, and deck below. An unedited 1 minute sample.

Birdsong and crows in the fields above my home in the fog and damp - so sounds amplified and 'hollow'. Recorded using a sennheiser 'shotgun' mic. Cropped in audacity; and saved as aif file. The odd airline going overhead can be heard. Quite an eerie sound-bite. Feel free to hash it, mash it and trash it. Use it as you wish. No conditions.

Urban rooster from portland, or calls at 0:01, 1:20, 3:08, and 5:25 with an array of sounds in between: airplanes overhead, cars driving by, assorted bird chirps and caws, and even some wind boom-noise to play with. An accidental bump of the mic at 0:08 (sorry) should be the only major blemish in an otherwise funny first field-recording.

This is a long sample of me hitting, scratching and rolling all sorts of stones against one another, somewhere in the moroccan desert. The sounds are pretty good quality, recorded with a sony pcm-d50.
